Multilingual Aid for Better Communication in Healthcare

Linguistic and cultural barriers arise hindering communication between the healthcare providers and the patients who do not understand Slovene, all of which can lead to inadequate access to healthcare services and insufficient healthcare treatments, posing a risk to the patients’ safety. To help overcome some of these challenges, a multilingual handbook in seven languages (Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, English, Farsi, French and Russian) was designed as part of the Designing a Multilingual Aid for Better Communication of Migrants with Healthcare Personnel project.
